Founded in 2009 by Gregg Pritchett, Gut Check Championship Series has quickly become a respected name in the industry, providing fighters with a platform to showcase their skills and engage with their communities.
Gut Check Promotions was born out of a passion for combat sports and a desire to provide a platform for up-and-coming talent. With the support of Grand Master Robert Evans and Jack Murphy, Gut Check initially hosted events at MVJ Athletics and grew from there, featuring 2 to 4 events per year. In 2018, Gut Check made a significant mark on the industry by featuring professional fighters in a sold-out show that pitted super heavyweights Bazooka Joe Stripling Vs Cowboy Heath Harris.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Gut Check Promotions persevered and came back stronger than ever, thanks to the encouragement of Rami Ibrahim of Rami Elite and Freedom Fighter Promotions. Today, Gut Check Promotions features between 6 to 8 Kickboxing and Muay Thai events per year, expanding their reach beyond Wilmington and hosting events in other locations, such as South Carolina.
